Our story
Trf Outdoors was founded by Ted Fischer as he tried to make the best call possible for his son Jesse.
Jesse went on to win the State calling championship, Junior calling championship and the Wisconsin Open calling contest with the handmade mouth call.
Ted set out to build a call maker that would do everything you can do by hand stretching them, his brother Ned (tool and Die maker), put together about 6 prototypes before the call maker did exactly what Ted needed. The mouth calls are built with the only call known by TRF to add side and back pressure as well as release on back to obtain the "Callers Pocket" on a diaphragm call. Few years later Ted decided to try making a pot call with the lathe he had purchased, the original call (#1) recycled from a torn up cheap call he had purchased at a retail store. Call did not come out that bad! The rest is pretty much history after that call was made
